Hi, just wondering as i am confused.. how to qualify for a CCI1*? It says in the rule book i need to do 3 novices with clear xc and no more than 16 sj pens and then do either a intermidiatte or a N 2Day, but it then says to do the I i need 5 clear xc runs at novice, so is this as well as the other 3 or do i just need the 5 and also do the less than 16 sj qualifying pens have to be from the same runs as the qualifying xc results?
There doesnt seem to be any 2day novices around here (N Wales!) thankyou if u understood all that!

It is 4 novice clears with the 16 faults and then either a N2DE or Intermediate.

N2DE are held:
May Chepstow - Wales
July Great Witchinham - Norfolk
October Aldon - Somerset

It's 5 novice runs for the rider before they can go Int. but only 3 for a horse, therefore if you're a qualified rider, your horse could do an int. after only 3 novices to qualify for a CCI*

unfortunately if you want qualifying runs, you have to travel a bit.. and it's better to be over qualified than just scraping through..

I'd get your 5 novice qualifying results, and then depending on how they've gone, make a decision about either a N2day (depending on the calender) or an Int...

Which CCI* are you aiming for?
