CCTV footage prove's Mr Foster killed his family and tourched his home

I think it's the most incredibly selfish act and I do not feel sorry for that man I'm afraid. It seems all well planned but fancy thinking the only way out of a financial situation is to no only kill yourself but everyone/thing you have ever loved.

I cannot empathise with anyone who could do this. From all the info that seems to have been given it seems purely due to him being in an horrendous financial state and him not wanting anyone else to get their hands on it. BUT it is ONLY money at the end of the day. I am sorry but I cannot see how anyone values this over lives?!

It's a recognised 'syndrome' - called family annihilation. There was one in NI recently where a father set fire to the family home and the whole family died in the fire, young children, teenager and wife. No excuse is possible for this kind of behaviour. It is the act of a controlling, narcissistic psychopath.

I agree JM. Probably far better not to dwell on the more detailed aspects.

Exactly. I have absolutely no sympathy for him at all. Many people have suffered far more, and not resorted to murder and suicide.
Given the choice, I hardly think that his wife and daughter would rather have been murdered than have had the chance to rebuild their lives. Many people have done that before...
Wasn't there mention of the wife having just received a substantial inheritance?

I had hoped he didn't do it as it made no sense to me that he would kill the horses(apart from to be selfish and make sure no-one else could have them) poor wife and child aswell must have been very scared.

I have had sky news on for the past hour and the only breaking news is that 3 bodies have been found,i would think that this would be breaking news !?!? and been on BBC,ITV,CHANNEL4 and no mention about the CCTV info, so i am not sure how correct this info is ?!

Sky news has confirmed that there is CCTV footage, and that the police are not looking for anybody else in connection with these murders.

all i can think about is if we, as complete strangers feel the way we feel about this how on earth do the families left behind and the friends feel. imagine if it was one of ours, would you ever be able to stop thinking that you should have noticed something or do u ever come to terms with it? i hope they are recieving help as how the hell do you sort all those emotions out??? IF ANY OF THOSE PEOPLE ARE READING MY THOUGHTS ARE WITH YOU,
RIP, to all those that died so needlessly;human & animals

yes, but anyone who eats meat should face up to the fact that millions of animals go through this every day...

i'm more upset by the fact that either the mother or the daughter must have been shot first, and might have heard what happened to the other one.

[/ QUOTE ]

I had assumed that he was compassionate enough to have shot his wife and daughter in a way in which they didn't have to witness the death of the other or the animals. Of course, I have no evidence of that

My point, made badly, was more that somewhere along the line one or more of the people/animals could well have been aware of what was going on and been terrified.

Yes it happens in the meat industry - but nobody expects it to happen at home and to pets.

People who decide to kill themselves often seem "happiest" when they've made the decision. It seems to relive them to know their problems will soon be "solved" and that they have something constructive to do. There are all sorts of stories of people who thought their friend/relative was on the upswing because he/she suddenly seemed more relaxed and resigned to the situation, only to find out after the fact . . .

[/ QUOTE ]
i agree - have personally seen this happen with a friend of mine. it's an illness.
it's so sad and unfortunate for the whole family. thoughts go out to everybody that knew them. R I P

its all so awful and its sad that so many lives had to be wasted. And i agree with the above posts,i know of 2 people who have commited suicide. It might even have been a pact between the Husband and wife ? WHO KNOWS ??
I think that he sedated them both before doing it...but again WHO KNOWS ????? Nobody knows.I think that his reasoning was that if he killed the animals they would not have to go to a new home at least he knew what happened to them before he joined his wife and daughter !!!?????

This is what's been going through my mind - I said to my OH that I hope to god he murdered his daughter first... when he asked why I said that I wouldn't want her to have seen what a cruel and heartless bastard her father was - if she died first that at least saved her the mental cruelty...

For those that have said in various posts the likes of "oh and he killed the animals... I can't believe he killed the animals...why not leave them etc etc etc..." I LOVE my animals - and other animals... but in all seriousness - the slaughter of the man's family is undeniably far far worse than shooting some animals... My thoughts are with the two innocent people who died in this terrible terrible mess.

Very, very sad situation and my sympathy to anyone connected to the family.

I don't really know what I think about Mr Foster, all I can say is that whilst his actions appear completely illogical to us I guess there are many situations in life where we think we would/wouldn't behave in a certain way but until you're in that situation yourself you can never be 100% what your actions would be.

Let's hope none of us ever are in such a situation to find out.

A work colleague of mine went home to find his wife had killed herself and their two children using a circular saw in the garage, it was put down to post natal depression. Its difficult to understand the mind of someone can be so mixed up that they'll do this sort of thing.
