Could any of you advise me on which type of CCTV to get for a horsebox. We do not have access from the cab and would feel safer if we could see what the neddies are up to! We travel 3 horses and presume a wide angle lens would be best. Thank you!

I have been reviewing options on the internet this morning. I am impressed by Equi-Vue from Trailor Vision, but only know what I read. You can view on your phone or iPad. It's £179.99. Can anybody who uses it comment?

Just remember that the law does not allow the driver to see the screen of an internal view whilst driving

Yes, thanks Rog. I understand that, but it would be helpful to be able to pull over to check up if there is sudden movement, or whatever.

YAWNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

don't worry OP every time a cctv thread is posted ROG has to post about viewing it from the cab, like he is a 1 man bandit out to drown us with the same thing. I lost count how many threads he has put this on must be 40 now.

My cctv can be seen from the drivers view, I glance at it when stopped at lights or a loud crash or something. - sheesh I look at the sat nav longer than I look at the cctv.

if I am alone in the cab I have the screen facing backwards so I can see them if ness

I cannot stop anyone from doing something totally illegal but I can warn those who might not know the law

Then I would definitely find it hard if this is the case leaning across passenger seat to see the screen which is facing the passenger seats. lol

Staring at the sat nav is more dangerous since you look a lot longer and more often at the screen.

I think viewing the screen whilst driving is distracting and bblummin irresponsible-ROG is such a helpful poster and supplies a wealth of knowledge, your right it is over and over again but that is cos people who don't know should know and he is making sure they do

Thanks for all the comments. Truth is my husband almost always drives, and I am in the passenger seat, so there is no risk anyway. I usually take my iPad to take photos at an event.

However, back to the key question! It doesn't seem that anyone here has experience of the Equi-Vue. Using your phone or iPad as display screen seems clever. Can anyone here recommend a good horsebox camera system from personal experience?

Thanks for all the input and the info about watching the screen. I am the passenger so it will be me watching while my friend drives, just like we do with the satnav.

Perfect solution especially as it means each can fully concentrate on the task in hand

I can thoroughly recommend Trailervision as a company, though I have not heard of the Equi-Vue, it wasn't available when we were last buying. We are now on our second CCTV system from them, I think it must be the now superceded Digi Max, which I use in my trailer. Its great and works very well.

Trailervision are very helpful, and their on going product support and advice is excellent.

I did not know this so thank you :)

Another here who wasnt aware so thank you ROG - quite concerningly is that i recently hired a horsebox and the external view screen was on constantly when it wasnt in reverse and i couldnt find a way to switch it off! the hire man when i collected the box was saying how fab it was etc that i could keep an eye on them whilst driving :/ he also mustnt be aware!

Hey, thank you ROG, :-) another one here who didn't know, I don't have this but was thinking of it and just assumed the driver could glance at it the same way as a Sat Nav. I certainly haven't seen this mentioned on 40 odd threads and I come on here most days, glad I've seen this one.

Thank you for your comment. I shall contact Trailervision for their advice.
