Central Park Horses, New York

^ That is bat **** crazy and the ramifications of it don't bare thinking about. Actually, they need to be carefully though of. I hope the union stands up for its members and finds a decent lawyer. Thanks for finding that for me.

Yeah. Oh, to have been in the studio audience at the Daily Show that day! Before the show starts, Jon always chats to the audience and answers questions or comments. I would have liked to asked, "You're gonna get on the mayor's case about the carriage horses, right?" And presented some succinct arguments for why. Like you said, a lot of people are disconnected from animals now and if you don't know anything about horses or own them yourself, it all sounds warm and fuzzy and "right on." Retired to a loving forever home at a sanctuary? Sounds great, right? I doubt it even occurred to Jon Stewart that this is massively problematic.

The carriage industry isn't going to go down without a fight. They are organising themselves. And the one thing there isn't a shortage of in New York City is lawyers!

Have these 'concerned' individuals considered that the drivers might enjoy working with horses otherwise they might have chosen to be taxi drivers? Looks like brown envelopes all around. I hope they don't go down without a fight.
