Hi, I keep looking at this and thinking mmmmm....... As I have got older, I worry more about falling, etc, and I guess that learning to fall would be a sensible thing to do and I love a little bit of Sports Pychology is always a good thing.

Anyone tried it and found it useful? Is it for all ages and are the people inspiring?

I used to teach people to fall off without hurting themselves, in fact some of my first guinea pigs were HHO members.

Some while after one of the first sessions, I got an impressive set of photo's with one of the participants taking an impressive fall and using the techniques that I taught to avoid injury.

Another class I taught had participants from 10 to 70 years old, we had great fun and I feel everyone got something out of it, even if it was just to realise that the human body is not quite as delicate as we sometimes think.

Give it a go, or if you are close enough, go and take a look at a session and see if it is for you.

Oo me too, exactly the same thoughts have occurred to me, it's quite pricey but really interests me, I'm another oldie not wanting to land badly! Follow ing with interest!

I did the first hour but had to leave because I had a call to tell me my 2nd horse had atypical myopathy. I have to say the first session was brilliant & if the rest of the day was as good well worth the money.

Yes -I did it in August this year and it was a real turning point for me - it was worth triple what I paid for it - there was a range in ages from 18 - 70 - and everyone managed to do everything at least once. Cant recommend it enough :) If you want any specific info, just ask ;)

I wish they did short courses for specific things, rather than combining rearing, bucking, falling etc. I would like to know how to sit to a rear as mine has done it occasionally and it really worries me. I think if I could stay on then we could overcome it, but I just slide off the back for some reason! I feel like a session with them would really help me to stop worrying about it so much, but I'm not interested in the other aspects as generally I'm not a nervous rider at all.

I've done archery and combat there, and I think Karl (who does the hypnotism etc) is pretty brilliant. I can absolutely see he'd be really good at doing a confidence course and I really like the look of the day. I don't have any need to go as I taught myself to fall off as a mad teenager, have stunt trained pony anyway and no real confidence issues at the moment, but if I did, I'd be there in a flash!

Don't think of it for just nervous riders - is isnt really delivered in that way - we had people that hunt 3 days a week, people who event - one lady had broken bones in her arm and wanted to learn how to fall and now break things - some came on the course for performance boosting and learning about falling techniques alongside the rearing. There is nothing they do that tests nerves - it increases confidence in all aspects and I must say rearing was very scary for me - now - I know I will be fine and am not concerned over it.

I did the course recently and I'm afraid to say it didn't meet my expectations. I'm still as nervous as before.

Thank you, I will give it some thought. :)
