I have a 6 year old connie who was fed top spec but after he’s had a reaction and some sent him loopy , wanting to feed a mash that’s none heating , was thinking Rowen and berry fibre mash , tried thunderbrooks but hates it ???‍♀️?‍♀️

The thing with all the mashes I’ve looked at is they contain fillers like oat by products, GM soya hulls, molasses, wheat feed and trying to find something that has none of these in is nigh on impossible. I’m using Top Spec linseed mash at the moment as my Connie was losing weight but it’s made him even more grumpy than usual and if I’m honest a bit footy so once it’s gone he’s going back onto plain meadow grass nuts, pure linseed and pea protein. I do like the Rowan Barbary but again it’s full of fillers and they both hated the Agrobs.

Edit to add on initial look the Bluegrass looks ok.

I use Simple Systems Sainfoin Pellets as a mash, they seem to find it very palatable, and they do one with higher protein, if that's a consideration.

Are you trying to help him gain condition or is it just as a token feed? You can always go with unmolassed sugarbeet and /or grass nuts (like Lindylouanne) and if you're wanting something more conditioning add micronised linseed. Otherwise Copra is always worth a look but some horses can be fussy with it.
