its so disappointing to see an empty arena.

I know its a weekday and smaller classes but this is a top class show the like of which is normally held abroad and I really do hope that come the weekend the stands are packed and its not another Windsor Europeans.

I must admit I don't think it has been that well publicised and earlier this week I did look at tickets for the weekend but felt they were quite expensive by the time pay to go to London, cross London etc. Was seriously tempted though but decided that would be the best part of £250 for me and OH to go for the day and that is a lot at present.

It had nearly passed me by - what with the issues over planning for the initial location, then it seems to be here without noticing.

Would still be up for going if anyone knows of discounted tickets....

It is comparatively expensive but how often do you get to see the worlds best riders on home soil.

I do agree that the late planning hasn't helped and I assume that has hindered effective promotion of the event. I also think they scored an own goal by allowing a late discount for BS members after most of them had already bought their tickets.

Its such a shame if it doesn't sell out as the Olympics really showcased what Britain can do as hosts and this is a big show only usually held abroad.

I don't know what it is about BS but they just can't seem to get their marketing head into gear, there's not even anything on their web page or FB page and its not as if H & H has been galvanising their readership to attend.

Lets face it if existing supporters don't know about it and aren't going its going to be even harder to attract non horsey others.

I agree. We were one of the 10 people at Windsor one evening - or it felt like only 10 people and then somewhat disgruntled that having bought full price tickets that lots were discounted or given away.

Am not a BS member these days so haven't got a discounted code.

I didn't find the GCT website that easy either.

Am still tempted for the weekend though...

I do agree.

Unless you are a die hard fan its all too difficult.

The website isn't easy to navigate and it seems that the venue is an issue in that people are worried about congestion charges/ emissions / parking etc etc. If you've paid top dollar for your tickets the last thing you'd want is to get stung for driving / parking violations.

I was a die hard fan but have lapsed and the whys and wherefores of that are probably reflective of a lot of show jumping supporters.

Do you know if Ludger Beerbaum is competing at London. Saw his name down somewhere and that re sparked some interest.

He is listed but I thought I'd read somewhere he wasn't attending but that's not gospel, things change so quickly.

The website and jumping commentary are in my opinion, very good, presently the top riders and top horses are doing a two phase.
I would have liked to see children from local community, Riding Clubs or schools sitting on those empty seats.
In between classes, they have been discussing a sport open to all etc,
I think its a pity not to have had for example, free admission on the first day?
And the lateness of everything cant have helped.
All in all though, I think its going to be a great show.
Good luck to the Organisers and hope they can build on their first time.

Yes I've been watching some on-line and its good, don't know who the commentator is ? he doesn't sound English but still easy on the ear and informative.

I think its Frederic ???,his name was on earlier.

He commentates on GCT, has a lot of info and is dead right in his observations, seems to know a lot about the scene in general,
I have to say, he is my choice of commentator these days, sorry FEI TV !!

Been enjoying the website coverage for far too long today, good to see the 2 star riders, and looking forward to tonights class.

Really excellent coverage, and commentary, as I said yesterday.
Live studio programme during the breaks.

The Organisers are trying very hard,

Amazing round from Lauren Hough on OHLALA to win the speed class.

The commentator said we should contact GCT to comment on anything ,

I cant see how to do that?

Kept starting to buy tickets on Friday then decided really couldn't afford it. The train tickets bring the real pain.

Just seen the recorded BBC coverage,
I think the BBC made a good job of introducing the sport and to have a mainstream station on peak time sports was a really good thing.
Reminds you of the old days!

As I was away for the weekend, I saw the programme this morning, and agree, great class.

While I was away, 3 friends who are horsey but not necessarily into showjumping, had seen the programme and were all raving about the coverage and the jump off...trouble was, I didnt want to know the result until I could see it myself!

Now, how to fill those seats for the first two days of the show, and lets hope the show can return for 2014.
