Champion to Gatehouse?

Okay so I have always worn Champion hats. Recently my pro-plus has felt a bit hard to put on, but feels okay when its on yet it's still a relief to take it off. I think my head has changed shape a bit because it sits on just over my hairline fine and then it's an effort to push it down, and I was considering getting an HS1 as I'm doing more XC now and I wondered if my head would suit Gatehouse hats as apparently they are quite a different shape to champion? Thanks all. xx
 
I fit Champion but not Gatehouse so I'd go and try one on, if not the ventair range are much better fitting ime than the other Champions :).

Thank you but ahh my tackshop (the only one within an hour from me) only stock Champion! Might have to do a bit of a trek. Are the ventairs the shiney striped ones?
 
Oh see now I fit both Champion and Gatehouse well! But Charles Owen is a no-no for me, and there was a thread about hats the other day where I'm sure the general consensus was that if you had a Champion head you would probably fit an HS1. I love mine by the way, very light and comfortable, so certainly worth a try :)
 
i usually buy Champion hats and have just bought an HSI.

i think they are very similar.

can't get a Charles Owen on for love nor money though.
 
I have Champion Ventairs and Gatehouse Hickstead velvet hat. Both fit fine. But Charles Owen are totally the wrong shape for - apart from the beagler which I have but tbh fit is really not important for the beagler as it offers zero protection anyway!
 
How interesting! I have a CO jockey skull (J3) for every day, and a Gatehouse Hickstead velvet 'posh' hat....I do prefer the fit of the CO though...
 
I seriously believe that my HS1 saved me from a serious head injury when I hit a large log head first (!!!) XC last weekend! I wouldn't wear anything else now and we have just replaced my HS1 I crashed in with another HS1 today! After all it has the highest safety standards and although it's more money, can you put a price on your life?
Agree it's definately one you should try and they're very comfortable to wear, and come in funky silver too :D
 
I appear to be the opposite.

champions do not fit me at all
charles owens do, thought their skulls would often get tight across the forehead.

My HS1 fits fab :D
 
I have a champion ventair and a HS1, both fit like a glove! The HS1's are well worth the try, the best hat I have ever put on my head. :)
