I am looking to buy a new riding hat. I went and saw the Champion Ventair and the Champion Junior X-Air today however could only try on the Ventair as they didn't have the X-Air in my size. I loved the Ventair however cannot afford £110 for a riding hat and the X-Air is only £59 so a big difference, my question is what is different between the two?? Thank you!:)

Several places both shops and online sell the Ventair for much cheaper than £110, I got mine a few months ago for I think £75 approx.

I'm not sure of the difference, having a quick look it seems as though the Ventair also has the extra safety standard PA 015 where the X-air does not.

I was recently looking at these & agree with above that the ventair has an extra standard. Thought it strange though that the newer one doesn't have it especially when it's aimed at kids? Could you fit into a child size ventair? I do & they're a lot cheaper than the adult sizes.

So basically it is just the child's version of the ventair? If so do sizes come up smaller? I tried on the ventair in 6 7/8 today and it fitted perfectly, so will the x-air be the same size? I don't want to spend all that money and it not fit and have the hassle of sending it back!!:(

I had the child's peak version, got it in 2009, and replaced with a ventair skull earlier this year - same size, actually probably fitted a little neater, although the champions do tend to loosen off with time. Difference is the safety standard and also the ventilation - there's more ventilation slots on the ventair, giving in theory better ventilation, plus I find the harness a bit bigger and softer, although that could be the skull vs peaked hat.
