Has anyone had any experience of these hats would you recommend them?
I have only ever had Charles Owen but have come across a very well priced Ventair online.
I am hoping that I will be able to find one to try on myself at some point.
Also quite a while back I remember someone posting a link to the rating of the current hats at the time - I think it was safety ratings does anyone remember this being posted and possibly have a link to it?
Thanks

Show me the well priced ventair? I've had one for 3 years and buying another (though a skull this time) as they seem to be the only hats that fit nicely. I think I tried on a charles owen (may have been harry hall?) and it was awful!!

I have one, again very comfy but I wouldn't say it allows much air flow through, I still end up with a sweaty head!!! But safety of them is good, they look good and they are comfy, so overall a very good hat....

Gatehouse HS1 hats are very similar but also very good

I love mine

I bought one last month. I find it very comfy and it looks smart. I did find some reports though (after I'd bought it) that it fades - not that mine has yet!!

Yes I will have one fitted before I buy one but was just asking what people thought of them before I went to try one.
I now hope that they will fit considering no-one has had a bad word about them so far.
Thanks everyone

I've got the skull (with specialist ventair silk to cover it) and I love it. I only realised how much a week or so ago when I went trail riding in the US. I had to borrow an adjustable Troxel (sp?) and it just felt sooooo wrong compared with my own hat.

I love mine - all the Champion range seem to suit the shape of my head. I got the champion silk for it aswell.
I got my skull from Prequestrian on Ebay for £65. They only list a small fraction of their stock so always worth calling them up.

One thing to watch is that they will not exchange hats in case it has been dropped so be sure of your size.

I have both versions, the riding hat and the skull. I LOVE mine, so comfy, lightweight and smart. I am looking to replace my skull soon, as Ive had it a couple of years, but it is FAB! They do come up big though, so get the size down to what you feel you need!

I love mine although second faded quickly but they sent me the new one free of charge, so I have ended up with 4 - 2 original, 1 skull and an evolution. The original has now had the fabric changed and my replacement has not faded at all 1 year on

, I bought my evolution from Surrey Equestrian as they had the best price, just watch with the skull there are now two versions one with a leather harness the deluxe, and a standard one with a web harness.

I have had them since they first came out and I'm sticking with them, the safety ratings I think were on the mdirf website, the enhap test but they seem to have been moved unfortunately.

In regards to the safety testing, they were the safest on trial, although the Gatehouse ones do have additional tests according to the manufacterer that weren't covered.

Love mine and have just bought the Evolution one to replace old one. If you look on little nells tack shop site, sorry dont have proper web address to hand but you should be able to find it, they do them for £80 (Evolution one like mine); Dont know how much for post and packing but a lot cheaper than elsewhere.
