How time flies, cannot believe I was updating you all that we had put a bit in his mouth, saddle etc a couple of years ago.
Now he is starting his ridden career. Took him to what turned out to be a very large and busy local show - everyone went to HPF this weekend.
He did his first W&T dressage - couple of little spooks when he went in, then he settled. HPF school is a very spooky one, and he did so well. We got 62.5 - nice judge 6 and 7s and a good comments.
He also did two ridden show classes - came last in both but didn't matter. Nearly caused a pile up in the cobs canter round, we finally got going and they stopped, brakes didn't work too well but a quick spin when he realised why I was asking for stop and turn, which ended up with me round his neck put us in the middle of the ring and saved us.
In the coloured, he lost it - big class of 12 and a small ring. Walk and trot was fine, but them all cantering caused an big leap explosion and a paddy - managed to stay on and we had a discussion as to why he was going to walk round nicely with others cantering past him. He did eventually do this so I was pleased.
Our individual show was not too bad, showed all paces and at least I had everyone laughing with my yell "stop napping you horrible little bugger". In the second class, he didn't nap at all so the visit of Mr Sticky on his bum did the trick.
