Change of bit

I have owned my horse for 4 months and she is settling in nicely. When I tried her she was in a straight pelham with no noseband!! I got her home and straight away changed her to a french link snaffle. She has been going ok in it till recently, she is starting to take hold of it, sticking her head up and tanking. She locks her neck and I can never do anything with her, and having a friesian lock their neck is never good. When she is on a hack she is quite spooky (still in snaffle) likes to have a look at things. I've started realising that she is setting her neck against me then as well, its getting hard to convince her to look away!

I've been advised to try a myler bit, can anyone tell me what this does that a snaffle doesn't? or does anyone have any other suggestions?

If she has been going ok for several months then i suggest looking at why else she may be behaving how she is. First assessments should be on her teeth, saddle and the rider. Other considerations are turnout and feeding.
