Change of Bit?

I'm currently using a copper roller bit with my boy. But I've found that while he becomes rounded and on the bit I can still feel the pull on my forearms.
I've tried him in the snaflle that was used with his first owner. But he is hideous on it.
Would a lozenge bit work or something else to alleviate the pressure my end of the reins?

Your horse may seem to be rounded and on the bit but if you still feel he is pulling on your arms I suggest he is not working correctly.

In what way was he hideous in the snaffle ?
