Would you? If you rehomed an adult?
I changed Scout, he was Trout. I didn’t like Trout and figured Scout was near enough.
I may have had a rush of blood to the head and be rehoming an adult spaniel. She’s called Pepper. I have Pen and use names to send for retrieves. It would be handy to not have another P. She is very timid so I might just see how it goes. I suppose she could still be Pep but I could use another send command. What do you think?
Mine all have ridiculous nicknames and recognise them, so I assume a name change is doable., Chilli is quite cool… I fancied ‘Salt’.Chilli
Will she not end up struggling with her identity!? ?Just change it to whatever you like. I've never found it a problem.
New name and new life.
Will she not end up struggling with her identity!? ?
I’ve been keeping it under wraps as I’m still slightly distraught. Not as distressed as my OH mind ?I need more info on this potential spaniel!!
I've got 9 here this week ranging from 4 months to 8yo You'll be fine!I’ve been keeping it under wraps as I’m still slightly distraught. Not as distressed as my OH mind ?
Local friend calls him Sprout. He’s unbothered. So long as you don’t name her after your mil you’ll be fine. I always think of Scout as Scooter (no idea why) and Rew gets called Rooster, it seems to work.
Do you remember the Simpson’s ‘Santas Little Helper’. There was an early episode where they spoke to the dog and he just heard ‘blah, blah, blah’. Probably pretty accurate ?My last dogs name was rocky which he just never looked like. We called him Billy which he responded to immediately. Then again he was Dutch and spoke English immediately too so frankly I don’t know if they care at all what we say to them lol
