The little rescue black greyhound bitch is currently called 'Sarah'.... but its a name that in my opinion should be for humans (and therefore nothing wrong with the name) and not for dogs.
So, I would like to change it.... but need ideas.
The current theme is begining with 'E' but that doesn't have to be the case. My dog is called Ebby (short for Ebony). Don't really like human names, but am open to any ideas going.
Just hope that the home check is A OK on monday and we can def get her, as Iam quite excited!!

My boyfriends nan has a Doberman called Sarah....did find it bit odd but used to it now, but then i am one for using human names for my pets (Bob, Jess and George!)

I had a rescue dog who was called Sox (cats name imo) changed it to Fox cause it sounded the same and suited her more. Mother rescued greyhound years later who was called Flash - slowest greyhound I ever met, someone obviously had sense of humour, changed it to Sash. Both dogs accepted change immediately as names sounded same. So agree with thinking of something similar - I like Flare or how about Air, Mira, Mina, Petra? You get the gist. Good luck with home check :)

I rescued a lurcher in the most appalling condition - her then name was Lucky - never has a name for a dog been more inappropriate. It was changed immediately to Ruby, as she is a red fawn.

Dont worry too much about it sounding similar - Jura was previously Rose, Talisker was previously Solly, Ellen was previously Ebony, and Islay was previously Lady :D They adapt to the change very very quickly :)

Good luck with the homecheck :):):)

Otto was called Span (as in Spaniel, how original!) for the first five months of his life, however as he didn't respond to anything it didn't make much difference :D

Now I realise I should have kept it and if anyone asked said it was short for Spanner, as he is a bit of a spanner :D

My rescue dog was called Crumpet...Not something my Dad was willing to call across the park! Changed it to Harry and he took to it straight away (phew).
