Ok, so this post has probably only come about due to me being bored and having too much time on my hands for thinking... but...
I used to do a bit of everything when I was younger, I've never been huge on jumping but at one point I got quite into it. My horse isn't the easiest to jump and I think because I lacked confidence I didn't deal with the issues and therefore they got worse and caused me to loose my confidence completely. So I gradually got into dressage and have worked bloody hard on myself and my horse to make him what he is today (which isn't great but 100% better than 6 yrs ago!!).
So my dilemma comes in now I guess. When I'm back fit and riding again (mid - late summer) I will be looking to buy a new horse. Now because I have got into dressage I was ideally looking for something young and dressagey to bring on and try and make a real go with.
However now I'm thinking should I actually try and buy something that is more of an all rounder so I could get back into jumping and try eventing. My friend events and I often go to watch and do come away thinking that I wish I could do it and that I'd like to have a go. Obviously starting at Intro
.
I'm hesitant obviously due to my lack of confidence in jumping, even though I know that could be worked on.
Do I fulfill my dream of bringing on a young horse and trying to go up the grades BD, or do I bite the bullet and go for it in regards of changing disciplines...
Any thoughts
and well done on getting this far!
