Had a bit of a nightmare for new horses passport, it's done through NRPS studbook in Holland.

From me looking at it when I got the passport, it appeared that Anglo European Studbook had changed the previous ownership details, so sent it too them. They have said that they cannot change the ownership, and the passport should be in the post on the way back to me. (It had better arrive!)

I have done a bit of digging on the internet, the NRPS website English version is horribly out of date, so I sent them an email instead. Just wondering what are the chances of getting someone in UK to change it, as I really don't want to have to send the passport over to Holland!

Yes I'm pretty sure it can cos my mare is a Holstein and I sent back to passport to Germany and only this year I found out it could have been done here.....with the body that would add the "my horse shall not enter the human food chain" pages.......cant think but sure they were based at Kenilworth!?!?

Sorry probably not made much sense but sure another poster will! ;)

Would that be the British Equestrian Federation based in Kennilworth? Will email them tomorrow see if they can help!

Have a feeling you will not have a choice. Sorry
But honestly there are worse things then sending stuff to Holland, trust their post more then the one in the UK.

I believe The British Warmblood society in Bodmin, Cornwall can update the owner on KWPN passports. They may be able to help? Or at least point you in the right direction?

This is interesting! I gave just imported an Oldenburg mare from Germany. Does the passport have to be changed? Will they actually do anything? It's not proof of ownership anyway!

Yes if you get it overstamped bu the Anglo europeon studbook who have a office in the uk
If you ring them they will explain it to you they take over ' running ' of the horses passport ( I think they inform the issueing office they have done so) they put their stamp on it and it's returned to them in the future if the Horse is sold .
I have done it twice with horses from the further flung parts of Europe .

Yes its a legal requirement since the regs were tightened that changes of ownership are put in passports.

BEF will do it, as will British warmblood society.

It's odd about AES, the horse is on their database, and have handled previous name changes.

I sent my dutch warmbloods passport to the KWPN in the Netherlands. I still don't have it back and I sent it in summer! Although they did finally send me a payment request so hopefully that means it's been done and should be coming home. I didn't know about the BEF at all!

So on a related note how do you change ownership details related to the horses microchip?

I have a foreign issues passport for my horse there isn't an ownership page in it anyway?!

The BEF did my pony's KNHS (Dutch) passport. It cost less and was less hassle to do that, than it was to change my horse's SHB(GB) passport!
