Hi lovely people...I wrote on here last week about my new pony not settling very well and considering changing yards etc. I've found a lovely quieter yard and we move tomorrow! As she has only been at present yard for 18 days, she has not settled yet, and we have not bonded but do you think she will go back to being bolshy and nappy in new yard? Do I take her to the stable first or straight out to her paddock? She will be sharing with one other pony.

I'm lucky in that mine always settles quickly as long as there is something to eat. In your shoes, if you can, I'd put out in the field straight away but keep headcollar on just in case. Let her have some grass and keep an eye on her for a bit, then come back early pm to bring in, nice groom and feed - that way she should be settled for you to have some bonding time with and you can get a routine started.

I wouldn't be moving after only 18 days! Although some horses do settle immediately in a yard they like - it can take a long time to settle.

I think the OP is doing the right thing by moving, their previous thread showed far too many issues with the current yard, the sooner the better I think was my response to the first post, she will settle in this yard far better from the sound of things, get her out as soon as possible so she can have some grass and make sure any introductions are done carefully and start to enjoy your time with her.

Hi, I'm changing yards to better facilities and to be nearer to home...the place was full originally but then a vacancy came up and so decided to move...sorry for the confusion..
