We set off on Thursday evening, much later than the propsed afternoon departure. Jemima and Gerry the 4 month foal loaded fine and travelled to Preston . We arrived about 10.30 pm and it was pitch black. We put the two in their stable and set got them readyf or the night. The door of the lorry was not closed properly so when we returned to the lorry the dorr was open and 3 dogs were loose running around the lorry park !!!
We managed to get them back after an owner of a GSD said that they were almost her dogs dinner!
Woke up friday and the two were very clean with very little to do, we entered Gerry into the foal Futurity class adn we qualified for the evening championships which was great. We had entered Jemima in the loose jumping after she was great last year and should have won, it was all very exciting as I had gerry in the iddle of the arean who was just bursting to get to his mum and join in but even with the biggest bucks and cutest rears he coudl not joi her which allowed her to do very and well and jumped just over 4ft to win her class of over 20 and qualified for the evening champs.
When it came to the evening, Gerry came 7th in the Foal futurity and missing out on the 100 pound prize but he was so tired and although he was a star when turned out lose, he just did a very cute big trot to follow mum around the arena, then came the loose jumping, the won we wanted to win seeing as she deserved to last year, well we only went and won the championship!!!
We were so pleased the judges said we were very brave to jump her with a foal at foot. So we got to trot down the long side to "Simply The best" and got a massive sash and rather generous prize money.
On the saturday we came first in thebreeders challenge out of a very big class. So all in all we had a great few days and I then went straight to Stoneleigh for the Birmingham champ show and our young vizsla bitch came first in her class and has won her first three junior classes in a row!
Pics are pictures of photos we bought so not the best quality.
Jemima jumping the 2 nd fence out of three, the fence went up a good few holes after this.
Me trotting Jemima whilst Gerry follows whilst loose in the foal futurity champs.
Me trotting Gerry and Fiona trroting Jemima whilst doing our lap of honour to Simply the best!
Well done if you got this far!
