I was just reading the post on "how much you spend on your horse" when I noticed the vast difference on the prices Farriers charge in different areas of the country.

I saw one person was paying £115 per set

& others paying £72 & £65. I'm in the Midlands & I pay £58 per set including stud holes.

How Much do your Farriers Charge & what areas of the country are you in?

Ours are £60 for a set of 4 normal shoes.

£95 for 2 normal back shoes and 2 front heartbars.

And about £10-20 for a trim, depending on how much work needs doing!

We're in Cheshire.

I pay £55 for a set or £35 for fronts as I'm on my own at the mo, when we were in a group it was cheaper by £5. This is Norfolk and the cheapest area I've ever lived in for shoes, considering I was paying £40 for a set over 8 years ago.

Its £58-£60 depending on how much needs doing for my girl (road nails, stud holes etc). I had farrier up recently and the bill came to £88 which was for Tills (16.1hh) to have a full set on (along with trims first) and the Asbo Pony (10.2hh) to have fronts on and trim behind!

And my farrier is brilliant - I can't fault him in any way!!

£54 for a new set and an extra £1 per tungsten road pin. £10 per trim. Mid Cornwall.

£70 for a new set, £64 for refits, £1 for each road nail, stud plugs are £1.50 each, and stud holes are £1.25 each. Two or more sets in the same location are £66 for new shoes, and £60 for refits. I'm in South Wales.
