, but I haven't decided on a charity. I was thinking about Cystic Fibrosis (my dad ran for them about 14 years ago so I thought that would be good idea) but I want a charity where the £300 or whatever that I raise will actually be helpful and needed. I know that all charities are good and helpful but everyone thinks of breast cancer, cafod etc and I know these charities help lots of people but I was thinking about
something that doesnt get much publicity or donations...?
Any suggestions?
Anyway, I have to get abit fitter first!..Well.. when the snow goes...

How about your local Riding For The Disabled. My friend runs our local one and they are always in need of donations, they rely on donations to keep the ponies and improve the facilities/service. They don't charge the riders that come and all the instructors are volunteers.

I was thinking about something like this, theres a charity called Daisy Chain which I get newletters from etc and they help children with autsim and work with farm animals & donkeys
I dont think theres a Riding for the Disabled club aorund here unfortunatly

How about the Remus Horse sanctuary that took the old skinny pony Llewelyn rescued the other day?? I'm sure any donations would be very much appreciated. Of if you want a local charity I agree with claireelizabeth, and donate to your local RDA, they do a fab job.

I think the charity you mention above "daisy chain" would be a really worthwhile cause, places like this do great work with the children. I have an autisic brother myself and he goes to our local riding for the disabled and the horses really calm him and all the other children. they rely on donations to keep it up and running. Also as it is local to you you will be able to give the donation personaly and see where your money has gone i think it would be really nice.

Im not involved with this charity in any way just think it would be a very worthwhile cause

You can support ours in the absence of a local one

The one you said also sounds great, my friend says the autistic children really benefit from the riding, sometimes it takes weeks just to get them to sit on the pony but once they make a break through it really benfits them.

Good luck, I'd take your horse if I were you

What about MS charity? Theres so many people that dont know what MS is .. Multiple Sclerosis .. My auntie died of it in Novemeber 2007. She had this for 10 years. Before she died she was brain damaged, she was bed bound .. she couldnt eat .. drink anything fed through tubes etc. She was in a hospice for 7years. Its horrible and not many people know about it, well my friends and people I know didnt know what it was. Or they have heard of it but didnt actully no how harmful it is. She died at the age of 40. Heres a website: http://www.ms-research.org.uk/index.php

How about the Thoroughbred Rehabilitation Centre I know they are grateful for all the help they can get.

Or Bliss a charity for premature babies.

They are a couple of my favourites.
