Just seen a friend 'like' a page on the ever-contraversial FB, and they talk about rescuing ponies, and also link to another website, with a donation facility.

They have lists of their horses, but nowhere do I see mention of a charity number....

I THOUGHT that if you were looking for donations for 'rescues', you had to be a registered charity, or am I barking up the wrong tree?

....as if not...I'm gonna set myself an FB page up, and ask for donations for my poor old boys and girls, as they are all getting on a bit, and a few extra quid would be handy....

I'll call it 'DragonSlayer Rescues' :D

Legal advice welcome on this please!

Hmmmmmmmmm..but buying and selling.....? That's not charitable, is it? Seems a little odd to me.....AND they say they started small, and have now moved to a big yard, blah blah blah....

Do you keep the ones you think cute, and flog the horses you were 'given' because they are a pain in the arse!

'DragonSlayer Animal Rescue - I will take all the animals you don't want. ALL paperwork please, I won't get rid, HOWEVER, if I feel someone is suitable, I may 'rehome' the animal for a modest sum of £3,500 for your horse, coz I got him to jump a 3ft fence, so tagged with an SJ label, and that doggy you can't have anymore? Pure bred right? Thanks, got the paperwork, now I'll flog her to a breeder, a mere £500 for that one....oh look, through my buying, selling, reschooling, I've now bought meself a big posh yard, and having a swimming pool put in next week.....'..

I probably sound terribly cynical but heck............

....but maybe i'm being too harsh?

Depends, do you have any cute ickle fluffy foalies (preferably ones which look 'poor' and sad)?

:D

Well, funny you should say that, just been offered a couple of very fluffy weanlings. If 100 HHO'ers would like to set up direct debits for a mere £3 a month, I could have, sorry, save them.
