Hello!
To start with, my plan was to get started with eventing, however, my confidence has knocked that plan back for a while and I am concentrating on showjumping.
I currently own a Charles Owen Pro II skull, but I would like to possibly get an AYR8 in the near future. I have a brown tweed show jacket, so I'm unsure whether or not I could wear an AYR8 with it, and if I can, what colour should it be?
If I can't wear am AYR8, what colour velvet helmet cover should I invest in; black or navy?
Finally, I'm unsure whether I should get black or brown tall boots. I'm planning to switch to a navy show jacket once I outgrow my tweed, so I assume I should get black boots so that it will go with the navy?

I'm quite a novice when it comes to showjumping gear, so any other advice on it would be wonderful!

Thanks :)

Go with black boots, they are going to be correct whatever you do, navy for the hat/ velvet for the same reason if you do end up eventing, dressage or even do some showing you wont need to buy anything different, navy always looks smart and assuming you are female is more correct anyway.

Different types of hats don't really matter so long as they provide enough protection, although I will say I had a very minor fall (horse tripped and fell at a walk, I landed on my back on sand) and ended up with a serious fracture across the occipital bone in my skull. The helmet I had on was a 9 month old Charles Owen Pro II and it's currently being investigated with them as to wether the hat caused the fracture or not! Can't imagine what the outcome would have been if it was a more serious fall.
