Charles owen young rider- does age matter?

It says young rider but does it actually matter what age person wears one? They are cheaper than other charles owen hats and my auntie is looking for a new one so i was going to suggest it.

I'm not up to date with current detail, but years ago some equestrian clothing and safety products were marked young rider, or for children, to avoid VAT I think. Of course anyone could purchase and wear.

I've been wearing these for years. I need a 6 3/4 size so they fit perfectly, the safety standards are up to date and comply with affiliated rules.

I have always worn kids hats. I have a small head so it's much cheaper.

I also wear kids riding hats as my head is apparently tiny!

Yes - I have one. The shop recommends them to us lucky ones that fit them as can be significantly cheaper!

Yep, I have one; in fact, my last two hats were Charles Owen kids' hats, purely because they were the best fit! Perfectly comfortable, and def recommended.

Age doesn't matter at all, but you do want to make sure they fit! The childs ones area a different shape to the adult ones (I have a feeling they're rounder?) so they fit a different head shape, if you're lucky enough to have the right head shape then go for it!

I've got some ghastly teen design hat but it was the best fit so I just cover it up with a grown ups hat cover. I think the age reference is just a marketing tool.

I've got one too, my head is tiny! My brains must just be highly concentrated

I have a 53cm head, I think it is 0 1/2 (jockey skull sizing) or 6 1/2 (old sizing) so the 'only' ones I can get small enough to fit are children's hats.

No it's a VAT thing, there's no VAT on kids' hats, but if it fits (I've a little head too) then wear it
