Charlie has been off work for 8 weeks due to having a low white blood cell level caused by a virus.
Before his time off he had become very nappy, he was near impossible to hack out alone and was really nappy when ridden with company as well.
Time off was prescribed and I must admit to feeling slightly worried that it wouldn't improve his behaviour.
Today I took him out for a hack on his own (only the 2nd time ridden in eight weeks) and was expecting trouble, I didn't have anyone to ride with me so I had to go it alone.
We were out for 45 minutes and during this time he was Spooky, Silly, strong, had a spin round, kept shooting forward when scary birds flew out the hedge behind him, had a major spook at some purple flowers and I even had to get off to lead him past a sheep trailer (usually he is fine in traffic). Oh and he managed to pull a shoe off as well!
Despite all this I am so so pleased with how it went as he didn't try and nap once, he was nice and forward going and seemed to actually be enjoying himself!
Hopefully his blood results will come back clear next week and then I can crack on with getting him fit again (at the moment he looks like an elephant in a TB body
I have never known him to be so fat
) He is definitely feeling better in himself which is hopefully a good sign!
Please keep you fingers crossed that the blood results come back with a good result!
Sorry for the self indulgent post but I just had to share!
