Charnwood must love HHO !

Have started a few on this recently&have researched feed amounts but a few more rough examples of how much people feed & to what size/type of horse would be interesting pls?
Eg 'I feed XXg per day(or a coffee mug if that's what you use:)) to a XXXkg good doer.
Cheers muchly :D

I'm a bit miffed that I only get 20kg for my money now instead of 25.... Charnwood, what is the meaning of this????

I feed a cup a day to our Welshes of all ages in addition to the rest of their feed. Gives them great coats for showing :)

For the Yorkshire people, my local feed shop sells micronised linseed in lossange form. Very popular around here and might work out cheaper than a courier

The linseed lozengers {sp} have a lot of the goodness taken out of it, in the process of making them.
I tried to order from charnwoods, and was told i needed to order at least 10 bags ??? WHY
So i got a friend to order some, for me as well as her, no problem.
I feed a cup a day for maintance.
And 2 mugs a day { in two feeds} for weight gain.
I also give my 4 gsd dogs a heaped teaspoon on therir feeds at night, they have lovely coats.

I was super shocked to find my local feed shop stocking it now and they will ONLY stock what moves so must be popular down here in herts now too!

I feed 200g to my 15.3 TB and 100g to my 18 mth filly

Thanks everyone who's posted what amounts they feed. :) Am looking fwd to seeing what results it has on our lot! I got mine from Gjwtitmuss, who are down south and I'm in Yorkshire - 'twas free delivery.:)

Thanks for this, very good timing, just switching to a more barefoot orientated diet, with lots of great advice from Oberbaubles, and have just been looking for linseed, so ordered a small bag to try him on. :)

I heard about it from here and of course Oberbaubles recommended it.

My TB has 2 mugs a day spilt into 2 feeds.

It is quite possibly the best thing I have ever fed my horse. He has a beautiful coat and his feet are the best they have ever been.

And before anyone accuses me of advertising on behalf of Charnwood .

I recommend micronised linseed for the benefits of Omegas 3 and 6 - to aid the joints, coat, gut mucualge and polar lipid for hoof wall moisture balance.

When a horse's hooves are in rough shape and the owner has some concerns that wet conditions are part of the problem - I will recommend using linseed especially......

It just so happens the horse's whose hooves are in rough shape are the HHO members I usually end up speaking to :o.

Charnwood happen to offer a decent price and service - so I recommend them.

I heard about them from the old UKNHCP forum a few years ago.

I have no connection to Charnwood, Cotsherb, Progressive Earth, ForagePlus, Rockley Farm, Performance Equestrian, Equinatural and gain no financial benefits from recommending them :D

I ordered a bag last night, I have been paying £11 for a very small bag that only lasted 2 weeks. Can anyone tell me how long it takes to deliver.

I'm in Herts and it's one of the easiest things to find, everywhere seems to stock in or can order in it. I think it helps that Titmuss are a stockist and they supply alot of smaller places but I have choice of about half a dozen places you can get it from.

And me.

Feeding one mug per day to 15.1hh Welsh x TB that hold's weight well. One and half mugs to the 14hh oldie. And two mugs to the Connie x that's working hard and could with some weight gain :)

I for one, am very pleased that you did recommend it. :D

I have been ordering my linseed from Pro Earth, but I notice that the Charnwood stuff is far cheaper.

But, anyone know how long a bag lasts once opened - ie does it go off? A 20kg sack would in theory last me a fair while! (And is it easily resealable?).

Cheers.

I have had a bag open since the beginning of October it is fine and I have about a third of a bag left so it does go a long way I have one on it with the others getting a little every now and then The one that has it daily has about a mug full

Thankyou. I did wonder if it "went off". Sounds like not! I shall order some then...

Been using Charnwood linseed for a couple of years now & just got my new bag delivered. Courier asked what it was as he had another 10 bags to deliver today.
As its a stock suggestion/reply on here I often wondered if it had increased the company's sales, I reckon it probably has :)

We keep it as a stock item now - used to be something that would be ordered by a customer once or twice a year - now we sell half a dozen per week!!
