Well......as the title says! Some of you know I have a Friesian youngster, he is 3 next week. Decided for the FIRST time since buying him I would take him off the yard and show him the New Forest in hand (he isn't backed).

We headed down a lane and realised there were Pigs in the bushes...staring at us! Then........WE GOT PROPERLY CHASED BY PIGS.....It was a bit scary but hysterically funny, as we tried to get away one tried to bite my friends mare! she swiftly kicked it..but it came back for more. We managed to get past them with neither horse harmed (poor piggy a bit sore I imagine).

Both horses were AMAZING...I am so proud of both of them...what a first outing! welcome to the New Forest Dirk !! :D:D

Oh dear goodness! The little coblet at ours is terrified of pigs- Thank heavens your horses behaved. Coblet would have died on the spot.
But PIGS?! Thats insane! :P
Gave me a good laugh x]

It wasn't really creepy it was simply insane! we do see everything you can think of in the forest and in the wide open areas the pigs are no bother...but this was a lane! I've never come across them in a lane before!

I cannot stop laughing....we didn't realise they were after us at first...they were very small too! we though they wanted to get past so we moved to the side and then LOL they started to come for us! we were pretty slow on the uptake really! we headed into the trees at the side and they followed....cue us running and pigs chasing LOL :D

It's amazing how many horses are scared of pigs! We loaned one a while back and I remember the owner saying, he's fine with everything but terrified of pigs", I thought she was pulling my leg as he was enormous!

I've conjured a hilarious image in my mind of little piggies chasing great big horses down the road, sorry :D

Thats it...that is what happened......once we stopped I laughed so much I couldn't breathe... then reality hit that we had to somehow get past them again! cue my friend grabbing the biggest branch ever and dragging it along the road in case they came back! :D:D

Pigs can be evil grumpy things! I'd have run too,....horse or no horse!
Very impressed with the 3 year old! I think I'd have been dragged to 'safety' by my girly! she cant even look at a donkey without spinning and bolting!

My mare doesn't like donkeys either! in fact if I had been out with my 20yo mare (who is poorly at the mo) then she would have covered me in froth! after spinning around and being a total trollop! It would have been more eventful thats for certain!

Very impressive horses! Mine can't even deal with pigs when they're several fields away - he would probably die on the spot if one even came up to him let alone chased him and bit him!

hehe LOL!! We have to get past chickens, llamas and wait for it....shetlands! to get out of our yard...then we go under an underpass (dual carriageway) and then hit the forest and there are cows & donkeys & loose ponies! its not for the faint hearted! I'm very pleased by my boys reaction...I hope he isn't just saving up for a major explosion.

Funnily enough the horses shy the most at the orienteering bods...we get lots of those!
