My mare has been a nightmare for last few months (pls see other posts), all checks done and phiso found she had "torn" her shoulder. Since then she has come good in the school but was a little bucking machine yesterday on hack

With out going on to much and after some goggling Chaste Berries seem to be good for stroppy mares.

Has any once used with good results?

How much do you feed per day (roughly eg pinch)

I just recieved my order for this to try on my very hormonal mare, it says on it 20gm for ponies 30gms for a 500kg horse..will see how we got on.

Chaste Berry, rasberry leaf, red clover are some of the herbs which are often used in some supplements to aid mares that tend to turn into sour monsters during their seasons, chamomile (sp?) is often added as it has a calming effect.

Using a detox supplement (for liver and kidneys) will include the likes of dandilion and nettle which will help settle a hormone imbalance in mares.

I only know this as some of the herbs above are also helpful with riggy horses, as in they put some of the same things to help both the male and female hormones that is.
