Got in from work to find OH on the phone to the police yesterday. He had taken the dogs out for their after work walk through the park and heard kids letting fireworks off nearby (It was dark by this time) He carried on over the bridge keeping his head down when the kids started aiming them at him each side of the bridge! He said they narrowly missed an old man who was trying to run away! He tried shouting 'Please stop, I have dogs with me' but was ignored and very nearly got hit! Both mutts were going nuts, understandabley and Tyson very nearly got away from him.
Why would people do that? Absolute idiots.

This is shocking!! Have your dogs calmed down today or has it really shaken them.
I have very little sense of self preservation and last year kids were throwing snow balls at this old guy I worked with when he went out to lunch so I called the police they said unless they were caught doing it they could do nothing but would come drive past  so dispite being pregnant I went to go and 'get my lunch' (slowly) and these kids threw snow balls at me...hard! Just as the police car went past. :D They were taken up to our office by the police, their headmaster was called (it was a snow day) and came and their parents had to come and collect them and then they had to write letters of apology to me :p one of the mothers was in tears that her son would throw snowballs at an old man and pregnant woman. Didn't see them out again

Don't 'spose your OH got a look at them, I bet they are known to the police anyway  Send them to me I'll sort them out...I've had that sort of day!

That is awful !!!! I just wish they would do away with all fireworks - completely !! What with lazer lights and stuff now you dont even need them for big events. I know it will never happen but that would be my wish. Hope yours are ok today.

I was fuming yesterday, but other than calling the police what else can you do? They said they'd send a car round to have a look but OH couldnt give them descriptions or anything as was so dark. He said he heard them laughing though
Bryony was very shaken up at the time apparently, but all Tyson wanted to do was chase the bangs :o By the time I'd got home both dogs were curled up snoozing so it hasn't effected them too badly, but imagine if they got hit? or OH did. Doesn't bare thinking about. Had that have been my parents dog, or one of a similar disposition I really think it'd be suffering still! Total Muppets if you ask me.

It is frightening how some kids have no respect for anyone or anything, and no concept of the harm they could have caused. Glad your two don't seem too traumatised by the experience, just a shame the little b's will no doubt have got away with it.

Just reinforces my belief that fireworks shouldn't be made available to members of the general public only organised displays.

Glad they're all ok

Ditto to both.

I'm glad they seem to have recovered from their ordeal (OH too?) but you may have your hands full with Bryony at New Year and any of the other hundred or so days a year we have fireworks these days

Totally agree with this. Glad that your two and OH are ok it doesn't bare to think about what would have happened if any of them where hit by one.
