Hi all, 1st post - yay!
Without advertising, where would be the best place to find cheap or old jumps do you reckon? Tried tack shop notice boards but nothing around. If you were replacing or updating yours would you advertise old ones or sell through word of mouth? Thanks for any ideas.

I think they are like hens teeth!
Find a local handyperson/joiner and get them to knock you some up!
I sold a full set when my daughter's horse went on loan, I didn't even advertise them and I sold them the day I made the decision. Now of course horse is home and we have no jumps! Hoping someone is going to make us some.
Good luck!

Ebay! Just bid the minimum and you never know! I got about 8 wings, 8 poles and 2 planks for £100 from an ad, true they're old wooden and grotty but still jumps and a lick of paint never hurt. Ask around i also have lots of barrels that I can't remember where I got them but they all have "CHUTNEY" and "CURRY POWDER" written on the sides and I got them free! Use loads as fillers, containers for feed and warm up jump as they're quite low. I also found 2 old tree supports in my field and together with some branches I made an XC jump! Also I use a folded blue tarp as a water tray! It's all about being creative but remember to stabilize barrels with sand/water in them and check for loose nails etc SAFETY FIRST!

I know where there are about 15 poles, 4 pairs of jump wings and 6 pairs of cups and some fillers! Had agreed on £90 & they would collect, then they decided they wanted them delivered to Lancashire, they were politly told they were going back in the shed!! Pm if you want more details.

I got some of those big blue barrels from Ruthin farmers sale. There are also often lots hanging round on dairy farms as they go through gallons of hypochlorite and teat dip, so chat nicely to any farmers around you.

I got 4 barrels for £20 I think, but you might get them free if you ask the right people! They're quite good, as you can either jump them or use them as wings.

Good ideas thanks - have made a few already from barrels found around farm and feed bins but really want some wings and poles to bulk it out a bit - never thought of ebay for that sort of thing though - thanks!
