Full disclosure: I'm a bit of a fusspot when it comes to being comfy in my clothes, but here goes...

I'm looking for reasonably priced new breeches for daily use, need to be reasonably durable and wash well etc etc. I'm size 10-12 but breeches either seem to get stuck at my knees, or come all the way up and gape at the waist - especially after I've been moving around in them for a while. I don't mind if they're pull-on, or have fastenings. I prefer the lycra leg but velcro fastening is fine as long as it actually wraps round my leg - I've had pairs in the past where the velcro didn't meet and would get in the way.

My favourite breeches of all time were Fouganza ones I bought in in bulk from Equestrian Clearance when they were less than £10. Sadly I've worn them all out and Fouganza no longer make them. I bought some of their cheapies with lycra legs and when first on they fit beautifully, but within an hour they're sagging round my bum and gaping at the waist and I look hideous walking around the yard trying to pull them back up!

Am I alone in this? I know loads of us are on a budget but want to be comfortable in our riding gear. Any recommendations for riders on a shoestring?

I've just bought requisite breeches from sports direct, hugely reduced to £12 a pair and I love them! I'm the same size as you, they have a high waist which I love, and which doesn't gape (for once!), a zip pocket big enough for your phone on the back and another on the front for your keys and a stretchy calf which fits neatly under long boots. They wash really well too, but the down side is they only come in beige or white. I've got 4 pairs now in beige, and wear them for everything, including the odd dressage test.

I have some derby house breeches they are often in the sale I think mine were £14, they are made of very stretchy material and they fit really well I really like them.
