i might be going to hoys so i could wait till then, but i havnt found anyone to go with me yet but that will be the last horsey event i will go to this year

i bought a 400g of ebay last week for 49.00, really like it. was unbranded make hence price but fab quality-i posted a similar post last week re cheap ebay rugs and only got good feed back. the make i bought was called maxim i think

I got an amigo HW turnout last year with a neck cover - lasted well but I only used it as a stable rug. Cost about £80 but well worth it if you can stretch to the extra £20.

if its a good make going cheaper than the normal retail price i might stretch the budget, need to find the warmest i can find but one that doesnt get ridiculously heavy when wet. i have one that weighs a tonne when wet.

I'm afraid that unless your horse is REALLY easy on his rugs the super cheap rugs normally turn out to be a false economy (and anything but super!) I have tried many over the years and they invariable rub, move, make them sweaty or don't keep the rain out / the heat in

I would honestly recommend you buy right and avoid buying twice- Weatherbeeta are reasonable value and have great longevity

I got one of these for the Big Grey Lump last year.

He wore it through all the snow and was toasty warm - was also very impressed with the quality and the finish - especially the elasticated leg straps. Would definately buy again - the BGL is also a hard on his rugs but this one has come through one winter unscathed!!

I always find that the weatherbeetas come up quite big. My forest mare is a 5'6 in everything except wetaherbeeta, where she gets a 5'3, but if the horse is broad they are probably truer to size.
