same, looks quite a nice chap-mind you a months trial is good.
 
Owner sounds honest enough if not a little harsh. lovely horse though probably got a few years in him as he says as he has been well school and looks fit, obviously been a mans horse all his life so probably won't appreciate being petted and fussed over. I expect he will be happy on a lot of work still, or a total fruitcake, so not necessarily an easy horse even though very cheap.

Oi! That's a bit of a sweeping generalisation. I pat and fuss my horse all the time and get told off by my (female) OH for being too soft.

I think the owner is being brutally honest and practical. In essence, he can no longer do what he wants to with his older horse, so has bought a youngster and is now selling the older horse cheaply.

If I was in the market, I'd go have a look.
