cheap rugs ??

Right,well i went to go and catch my mare in this afternoon to find her without her rug on :O i then searched all over the feild and then found it in a heap completley ripped and broken. :( Rather than get it repaired, as i think it's completley beyond repair and really old anyway, i think i may aswell get a new one. Has anyone got any reccomendations of websites that are selling relatively cheap medium weight turnouts? Don't want to spend a lot but don't want a pile of c***p either! Thanks :)
 
Derby House rugs are surprisingly robust and well-made - I know they recently had an on-line rug sale, where they were selling their own brand rugs at very good prices, but I'm not sure if it is still on?
 
Probably not what you want to hear but I went through cheap rug after cheap rug and they kept getting trashed, one lasted 2 weeks! They were getting trashed by another horse though in the field. I then reluctantly bought a Rambo Wug and its now on its 4th year. Ive now got the MW and LW and they do go on for ever.
 
Agree with Louby, you get what you pay for and you usually end up buying cheap and then buying twice or more. Amigos are not top top quality but are equally a nice rug and not too expensive. I think the medium weights are around the £50-£60 mark.
 
Forgot to add before. Check the material denier, most cheap rugs are 600d and they rip for fun unless on an ultra careful horse. Rambos are Ballistic Nylon and take a lot to rip. If you can get a cheaper rug with say 1200d then it may be worth a try???
 
Don't go for cheap, you get what you pay for!!!!!! I got a Premier Equine ballistic nylon rug, at a very reasonable price, that is tough as old boots!!!!!!!!!!
 
I buy mine off this seller, have been doing the past few years, they have been excellent quality.

That saying can be so true about 'you get what you pay for', but it is not always the case.

I have had one particular rug over 3winters now, full neck heavy weight (cost £12 plus £12 postage), nothing wrong with it apart from stinking! :D

Moggyinmanolos, when someone eles posted about cheap rugs. Think it was you who i got the ebay seller off and you was right fab rugs for the price. I got two rugs. Both great.

Lol, yeah, I should seriously get commission for the amount of recommendations I have given that seller over the years! lol :D
A free rug even... :D Maybe I should mail him/her!
