Hi I'm a bit new round these parts, so I do apologize in advance if this is in the wrong place 
. So anyhoo do you guys think that I would be able to use 25mm thick rubber gym mats? They are lovely and have grips on them (this was a must as I have fell on my bum with slippery mats before!) it says they are very heavy duty and I have calculated that it will cost about £40-£50 (they will cost about £5 each) to cover a 12ftx12ft stable, but if I bought normal mats that say their designed for horses (they look identical) it would cost me a lot more.
But I have never used mats before and I'm looking at ways to keep money in the carrots/treats/vets fund and winter is almost here (Scotland is freezing).
