Hi

Can anyone help me find a supplier of wood shavings? Im in central scotland. If anyone could suggust anywhere, please let me know.

We use Verdo horse pellets from Chamfleurie Estates In Linlithgow £3.62 for a 16kg bag if you buy 52 bags or £3.83 per bag if you buy 10 or £4.03 per bag for less than 10 bags.

Hey have you tried your local sawmills? I live in Inverness and get free sawdust and wood shavings. They are usually more than happy to get rid of it as they have to pay increasing costs to dispose of it. Sawdust is also incredibly absorbent.
I have 2 horses which are dust sensitive and have had no effects on this type of bedding.
They put their shavings into 1 ton bags and load it for me or take your own bags and do it. I now save over £200 a month on bedding costs.
 
...I use a mix of AllBed & Rapport & I semi-deep litter (lift wet every two weeks or so) - very absorbant, drains well, economical & easy on the muck heap. Allbed is approx £7 pb from Russells (Larbert & Linlithgow) & Rapport £7.50 - I only use a bale per week (sometimes between my tow) but used more over the wet winter!
