Any thoughts, getting through a lot this winter!

Have been doing some analysis on energy components and there is not a huge difference between alfa a oil and alfa a, so I could change to that... But what other chaff would be nutritious and cheap? I know loads of chaff does not have much in terms of nutrients, but want to keep a chaff base to bulk out feeds, and have them chew lots... Would prefer one that has some nutrition if possible!

Don't want to move to any beets, but other suggestions would be great. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure I saw a bag of alfalfa based chaff in the 'value' type range in my local Countrywide store

Unless you want an alfa based chaff look at a grass based one i.e. Readi grass

Simple systems will do alfa (Lucerne chaff) and may be cheaper than alfa a.

Glad it was deleted as it wasn't particulary helpful. Only trying to ask for advice, and try help finances. Thanks for rest of suggestions though.

One thing to check is the weight of your bags too, some manufacturers have 20kg bags and others 15 or 12.5kg, which makes it cheaper to buy initially but won't last as long. ;)

Mollichaff bags don't have much in them. They may appear cheaper but for the weight difference it probably doesn't work out much different.
