Cheapest way to build a shed /storage

Just that really, anyone managed a usable build on a tight budget?

Have you seen the price and poor quality of sheds these days!

Doesn't need to be perfect in terms of being watertight, it's to storage wrapped bedding, stuff in plastic boxes, my mucking out tools and barrow.

I keep wrapped bedding and mucking out tools outside. Bedding is on a pallet. Could the stuff in the plastic boxes go in something like this;

I built a structure (it’s certainly not a shed but it works) from pallets on my track. Three sides with 2x4’s to make a roof then covered with tarpaulins. The base was the raised seating area in front of the school and I nailed the pallets to it. The pallets were free and all the other wood came out of the village hall following its refurbishment. I spoke to the builder, took my trailer down and he loaded it up for me. The only thing I bought were long nails, screws and the tarpaulins so less than £50. It’s on its third year and still standing. During the summer I store feed, buckets, first aid kit, headcollars, haybags, fly rugs and spare electric fencing supplies. For light I use a rechargeable camping lamp.

An old mot failure horsebox/van/caravan would be cheaper than a shed - they are so expensive at the moment and rubbish quality

Ditto vg ring the local car scrap yards and commercial vehicle breakers ask about luton van bodies, try caravan sales to see if they have cheap old px ones also try asking on Facebook for old caravans or scrap vans.------- for anyone wanting quality sheds/summerhouses etc, substantially built with quality large section pressure tanalised timber delivered and erected anywhere in England try mcd garden sheds. Not cheap, but quality never is, worth every penny.

We tend to get our sheds though ebay, you can compare spec and price, and if they are reasonably local good value. I think a lorry body or perhaps an older BT box body, look use full.
The other week we bought a second hand wooden gazebo with sides and roof, it would be easy to staple sheeting on it it we needed a shed.
We have so many sheds and we are managing to fill them all.

This sounds good. I had considered pallets but didn't want to go to the trouble of breaking them apart for the wood, this sounds much faster.

YO wont let anything hard to dispose of be brought on, he's been left with too many rusty cars etc over the years.

Maybe an ebay shed is doable, hadn't really thought about that. Will search.

I saw a thing on FB this week where someone had taken a metal raised sleeper bed (like a bunk bed but only with the high bunk) and cladded it to make a summerhouse. It was very smart - if you could get hold of the wood for it, it provides the structure. Can't find the picture annoyingly. This is the kind of bed:

Whatever you build it needs to be able to withstand high winds, unless you can put it somewhere very sheltered

It's worth checking out wooden playhouses on fleabay too. Usually people are in a hurry to get shut of them and they go for peanuts. Otherwise, if you want to look around for a second hand copy of a book called Garden Buildings Manual by Tony Lush, it is full of ideas and plans to build your own structure.
