Hi
My horse has a swelling on his near fore which the vet has diagnosed as a previous check ligament injury. However, he isn't lame so she feels that it won't cause an issue for schooling/hacking which is all he does. He is going to have it scanned next week to make sure there is nothing sinister (he is in having a hind leg lameness looked at so she said she will look at it at the same time). However, on a few occasions now he comes in from field in the morning with it swollen and lame, but during day it goes down and he is perfectly sound on it before he goes out at 2pm! It doesn't flair up for weeks in between episodes. Has anyone else had this experience with check ligaments?
The underlying issue is conformation which unfortunately we are managing as best we can with shoeing.
Appreciate anyone who can share any similar experiences.
