still learning how to use the site maker...
i know there are a few spelling mistakes!

but any advice/sponsors feel free to email me! or just respond to this post!

Very impressed!! Hope its successful...

The only thing I would suggest is to maybe get someone to have a quick look at a couple of the spellings
 
The fact you offer to mention sponsors as often as possible on forums such as Horse and Hound would put you in an immediate breach of the terms and conditions and probably annoy all the other users in the process! I agree the spelling is terrible too.
 
You need a decent proof reader and spell check, it is riddled with errors.

Errors will put people off reading.

You also need to think about why people should part with their cash. It isn't really great advertising to have your name on the side of a horsebox that is trundling round a few local shows.

correction, i said i would recomend their product's provided to me. what i would put on a form eg:
" was thrilled with what my sponsor donated to me, my new black leather gloves! blaahh blaahh blaahahh".

That is not what you said although I see the site is down now - not a bad thing. Still I don't think we have too much to worry about

The top riders have problems getting sponsorship - you need to have proven results at a really decent level to stand any chance.
 
I still come back to my comment... very impressive... I think some of the posters have over looked the fact that you are thirteen...

Well done, don't get put off... you won't get anything if you don't give it a try...
 
I didn't comment earlier as I didn't know how you would take correction.

If you need any help with copy checking (and you do!), PM me, I know you are only 13 but to put that online without it being checked by someone older denotes a lack of forethought, sorry!

Dear god all I can say is what the hell has happened to the standard of education?? I know she's 13 and fair play for what she's trying to do but jeez my 8 year old niece has better spelling than that, really should have had someone check it first. Best of luck to you though but it's not something I'd be or am interested in, sorry.
 
Agree with ponypatter, very enterprising and well done for at least trying something different!

If my daughter had produced a web page at age 13 I would have been very proud.

I give you 10 out of 10 for effort and enthusiasm, a little less for spelling and grammar though

This is a great idea ,but agree that you need to maybe have another look at the spelling and grammer. have you approached any of the businesses that are local to you for a start?Small businesses wont offer as much as large ones but you may have more luck with them to bagine with. Good luck.
 
Goodon you for trying. If you don't try you won't get anywhere! I do agree with others though, get someone to go through it with you to correct the mistakes. If you'd like some help just shout!
 
Well done for being so creative and good for you for having a dream and going out there to try and achieve it. Why the heck not!!

I would say don't get your hopes up too much and have a plan in place to achieve what you want without depending on offers of donations, sponsorship & assistance. Sponsorship is hard to come by especially in the current economic climate. Companies get approached by thousands of riders looking for sponsorship so make sure you work as hard as possible getting to all the right places and building up your performance record.

In terms of the website...

Obviously spelling & grammar - i think it is unfair for everyone to keep replying to the OP on this. It has been said...no need for anyone else to post just to say the same thing.

Upload a range of pics, preferably showing your natural talent and ability as well as your horses so without gadgets etc. Maybe include a range of performance and training images but make sure they are clear - e.g. in focus and good quality.

It is difficult to read the small black text at the top in the purple banner...consider a different colour, size & text and maybe include this slogan below the website heading so it is not the first thing you read on the site.

I would suse a generic background rather than the pics of your horse as the white frame and actual content of the website cuts them off and it makes it difficult to focus.

Maybe consider offering free companies banner advertising on your site, not sure on the legal bits around this and you would need to have high traffic for this to be something of value to a sponsor

Try to make the text look neater...ideally the same size and aligned better, including wrapping neatly around images.

I would create a seperate 'about' page and keep the home page to the new blogs you create. Keep the about page fairly short and to the point.

Maybe consider creating a 'team' page for details on your horses and use images of them at competitions.

I like the links page...maybe look into affiliation (I think that is what it is called) where you can link yourself to other sites and get paid for the 'click throughs' from your site to theirs.

Contact us page is good.

I would also create a page for your performance record so sponsors can see what you are doing and the shows you are going to.

Just wanted to say don't give up, i know a few very low level sj-ers with sponsors, although they are mostly small family businesses through family or friend contacts. But it is possible. Good luck

Not entirely true. I have had 3 companies "support" me by way of sending me their free products. One of them hopes to support me financially in due course. A few others also sent me some one-off freebies. I don't compete at a "really" decent level.

I can't see this girls website so don't know what it says or what level she competes at etc. but it IS possible to get help whatever level you're at! I know someone locally who is only competing at Intro BE and she gets her entries paid for!
