Is there anyone out there who is available to try out a horse for me. The horse is available to view in East Sussex and i do not have any horsey friends out that way. It is too far for me to travel as I am in North Cornwall. Your comments would be really appreciated.

Is there nothing closer?

If its too far to travel how you gonna buy it/get it home? Just a thought.

You would definitely need someone who knows you to go really, or better still YOU! otherwise what may be good in their eyes is a total no no in yours if you get what i mean....!

yes best to go and see it for yourself ... is a long way ... but if you buy it on someones approval and its not what u expected ... its also a long way back for the horse ...

Good luck !

Hmm if the horse is nice enough to hand over your pennies then it must be nice enough to visit!

I think Ive travelled more miles looking at horses than air miles going on hol!, but I would never buy a horse never having ridden it myself.

A friend could love him but you may not see what she sees.

I had someone from Bude contemplating buying Sassie without trying her out because of the distance. Madness! The transport costs can be upto 1000, so I would not even bother unless you are prepared to at least try it out. As already mentioned the standard of riding could be totally different. With all due respect Bex7 Bert has not been all he was advertised as. Katie2022 you really need to see & try the horse out, you should not go on someone elses word, especially if you dont know them. There must be something closer to you??

Sounds like quite a good idea to me to get someone local to go first... You wouldnt want to travel 300 miles to see a horse that ends up being severely pigeon toed, rears during the trial, or is a hand shorter than advertised.
Plus as long as the theoretical horse is worth what you pay, you could re-sell again if it doesnt suit you personally (although having said that, Im not sure I would buy based on the opinion of someone I met over the internet; could convince me it was worth going in person for a look though).
