Cheeky/ridiculous posts you see on Facebook.

I'm confused by this one. Obviously it's great that facilities are being provided for horse riders but I'm not sure how it gets used? I wouldn't want to leave a horse in it unattended, nice for tacking up in securely perhaps but seems a bit OTT for that, but I'm not sure you'd travel over there to use it as a (small) schooling area, especially with that hacking being available? Am I being thick?
I thinks it’s for people who want to buy food from the cafe and eat up with your horse. Or use the loo if you have a friend who can keep an eye on your horse.

SPECULATIVE LIVERY

Do you have a lovely pony who perhaps lacks mileage or a jockey who you would like to find a new home for? I am offering limited speculative livery spaces. This is a cost effective way for your pony to gain experience and/or get fit ready to find the right family. I take on all their day to day running costs, which offers me the freedom to do things on the pony’s timescale without any pressure.

Based on a gorgeous yard in the Cotswolds with super facilities set up for ponies, I am petite and lightweight so I can produce them alongside my super little jockeys and have a large pony community through which to find them their new home when they are ready.

This has just popped up on FB. I've omitted the poster's name and phone number. :D

It sounds like someone offering free schooling/competition livery. So
I’m guessing someone young without enough credibility to charge. But who wants to gain experience/have access to nice ponies. Whether it’s a good deal or a swift route to a ruined pony depends very much on the rider!

There are a few corrals along different paths in my area of Wales, I didn’t think they were an oddity! They’re pretty well used particularly by groups doing long distance rides to be able to untack the horses in a secure area for a break while the humans can have lunch/pop to cafe/use the facilities. I wouldn’t leave a horse tied up in one solo, but so long as there’s 2+ of you it’s quite nice to be able to untack & tie up somewhere safe and gated rather than everyone having to hold a horse or two.

There's a couple at the a beach on Anglesey next to the secure horsebox parking ... You have to pay a 10er for the year for access I think but it's quite a narrow carpark so not quite enough space for tying to boxes without taking up the whole place.

I've never seen any, but would have no issue tying either of mine up as long as it was inside a closed corral, and leaving him unattended whilst I popped into the pub for a wee and to order a drink. I would feel he was safe enough. But then, he'd not be spooked by random members of the public poking him in the face or trying to feed him chicken sandwiches! That stands for either of them.

A couple of pubs have just a tie ring, in an area open to the road, but I don't use those. An enclosed one would be great!

I lived just near there for a while, the hacking is absolutely amazing. Its apparently for short term day time use, so I think you are right.

I feel for her as it sounds like she's actually really tried with him, despite being naive to start with, and wouldn't be passing him on if her circumstances hadn't changed. In the right home he'd probably be ok, but the chances of that right home coming forward are so slim and PTS would not be the worst thing that could happen here - for the dog or humans potentially.

Tried muzzle training but he didn’t like it? Is that a joke
He needs to be muzzled trained
Who in their right mind is going to visit a dog 4 times that lunges to bite and they won’t have a muzzle on him?

Not dogs fault but if she’s not going to keep him he needs to be PTS if you cannot muzzle him til he gets to know a new potential owner with proper experience (which is far and few between)

That's so sad.
I agree, I really feel for her, she sounds like she loves him and has done her very best. re the muzzle training, I had one on foster a pitbull who was supposed to wear a muzzle, no one was successful in getting her to wear it, its not always that easy. She was the sweetest dog and didn't need one anyway.
