Looking for an advanced horse to loan, not overly fussy on age / height etc but something that can teach a younger rider the ropes. Perhaps something that needs stepping down a bit.
Experienced set up with excellent facilities and on-site trainer.

Doesn’t everyone want this? Funnily enough no replies.

I’m currently on the lookout for a new equine partner and would love some help finding the right match! Ideally, I’m after:
🐴 15hh+
🐴 Any breed considered (I do have a soft spot for chunkier types, though I also love TBs and lighter builds)
🐴 Don’t mind a project, but must have been under saddle at least once
🐴 Relatively safe and passported
🐴 Mare, gelding, or stallion
🐴 Preferably to come with tack

My budget is up to 2🥕🥕🥕 — I know it’s not a huge amount, but I’m hoping the right one is out there without going crazy on price!

Most people with an advanced dressage horse will look to lease it out or in this financial climate sell it. My point being that isn’t that everyone’s dream? An advanced dressage horse on loan to teach you the ropes and then pass it back when inevitably something physical occurs and it’s unable to carry on.
Most people want a unicorn temperament horse to loan but this is the additional request of it being highly educated to boot seems a bit cheeky.

Our old DC did this with her son's eventer, when he went to uni, horse was loaned out to a good few teenagers until she took him back to eventually retire him. It definitely works in that kind of situation.

It’s brilliant if they’re around and the owners are willing to loan out. But the average advance dressage horse seldom often appears for loan.
 
Lease or potential to buy
Will be at shoys this weekend to try

Spirit is a 12.1hh 25 years old but isn’t showing it!
We’ve had spirit for the last 5 years where she has taken my brother from a junior up to first year senior and been with a junior in strathearn A team this last year on lease. Spirit is all round pony loves to jump and do games but won’t win u a dressage test as outline isn’t in her nature.
Spirit is your typical grumpy mare so she does have to wear a red ribbon and will kick ponies that come up her bottom so this can make the tyre and rope abit difficult but if u keep her bottom behind the other pony she’s completely fine. She would be your ideal junior pony will stand for stirrup or run for vault she is perfect will all equipment and will happily stand and any equipment for as long as needed. Spirit has won many ribbons over the years and a perfect been their done it pony club pony. Pm for more info

The rehoming racehorse place is not what it seems. I personally know the person running it and can well believe the horse arrived in an awful state. He was sold for £500.

It’s not like they’re trying to sell her on at 25, they’re at least keeping that legal safety net out for her. ETA: I would hope they don’t let some nasty/ignorant person who doesn’t know what pain looks like buy her.

As long as she’s not arthritic or terribly creaky keeping going might keep her ticking over, as it does for people, and it doesn’t sound like incredibly strenuous elite competition to me.

That’s just how I see it, and others may have different views as well 🤷‍♀️

On a local FF page, offering a rug for sale, £25. Advert states still waterproof as not been washed since purchase. Photo shows a rug absolutely black with mud and quite probably worse. 🤮 By the time I clicked on the comments the post had been removed, judging by the laugh reacts I think other people thought the same as me. 🤣

Unfortunately Rolo’s new owner has dropped out. We’re literally not even in the country when he’s due to be picked up from residential training on the 11th 😫

Please can you let me know if you know anyone who can help in any way shape or form at this point. We’ve spent thousands and driven across the country to take him to the best trainer we could find. I need to find his new owner or a foster who’s willing to go all the way to Devon (England) to collect him 🤦‍♀️. The trainer is offering a free training session for whoever takes him as well.

URGENT REHOMING: Experienced Dog Handler Needed – 2-Year-Old Shar Pei (Berkshire, UK)

** UPDATE ** ROLO IS CURRENTLY IN RESIDENTIAL TRAINING. ‼️

Rolo is a 2-year-old Shar Pei with a history of aggression and severe separation anxiety. He is not a typical pet – he needs professional experience or proven skills with reactive/aggressive dogs, along with rehabilitation, structure, and consistent management.

Key points:
• Reactive to strangers, other animals, and some family members
• Has bitten in the past – experienced handler required
• Cannot live with children or other pets
• Previously rehomed; this is a last chance

We are only looking for someone who can actively manage and rehabilitate Rolo. Please do not send advice or comments that don’t apply to this – irrelevant messages will be ignored.

Rolo has immense potential in the right hands. Only contact if you are skilled, dedicated, and ready for a serious behavioral project.

Please only comment with HELPFUL advise on rehoming (we do not need your opinions or unsolicited advise, that will not help Rolo. Finding him his forever him WILL help him though & we only have a couple of weeks to do so) 😔

I maybe seen as cruel but having come across an aggressive shar pei I would consider putting to sleep. At least the rescue are willing to be supportive I guess.

No cos there could be someone out there suitable. I hope there is but there are few experienced owners out there that are capable of training and providing a suitable environment for a dog like that. Even if I had the experience I would be nervous all the time about the bite history.
