Cheeky/ridiculous posts you see on Facebook.

Do you mean about the background or the dog, because the below is being used to advertise him as a quality rottweiler stud dog, which I find deeply concerning

Sorry, I wouldn't touch that poor dog with a barge pole. Rottweilers, over here in France (populations may be a bit different) are already known to have huge cancer issues (average age at one point was 3yo due to all the early deaths), I can't imagine adding a deformed head and bad conformation will improve things.

The background, I didn’t see any issue with it to suggest edit/aI as I said he’s not the only breeder of brachy rotties either, it’s a ‘thing’ unfortunately plenty of photos about.

I haven't seen them before! I don't know why on earth they have done it, it's the opposite of improving the breed and honestly they just appear hydrochephalic to me

I can't imagine why anyone would want a dog that looks like that, quite apart from the health problems
Is it simply wanting 'something a bit different'?

Unethical dog breeding just absolutely boils my piss.

Brachy dog breeds breathing issues being made worse for looks.
GSD's with over-exaggerated sloping backs.
Merle genes getting bred into non-merle breeds.
Exaggerated looking features.
Dodgy temperaments like aggression and resource guarding being inbred.

Why do so many people just not want a healthy, happy dog with a good temperament?
If people stop buying dogs bred like this the breeeders would stop breeding them.

I saw this "Rottie" on facebook and the amount of people saying he was "beautiful" "stunning" was scary.
Not only are they now breeding them to be more Brachy, this dog in particular looks a prime candidate to breed Hydrocephalus into his pups.

I don't find any dog breeding ethical whilst there is still shelters full of perfect dogs, but this really takes the biscuit!

On a local fb group there are a bunch of anonymous posters who are trying to get evidence to use in some way against a lady they don't get along with. I don't know her personally and the people who are bringing up various "offenses" she has committed don't want to be identified. Examples of this are singing outside, having food delivered at 1.50am, not retrieving her wheely bin on a timely basis, having "men" visiting her (she's divorced ) and yesterday my all time favourite:
"There are googly toy eyes that have appeared on their postbox that looks directly at me when I come out of my gate. When their recycle bin is put out a big eye has been drawn on the side of it with an arrow pointing to my property."
My question is, should I place a set of googly eyes on my own letter box in solidary with the lady who seems to be being victimised or join with the majority of the community and go round to her house with a pitchfork in hand chanting "witch, witch".

So I was going to reply to this on FB but you can’t comment unless you follow the page for 24hrs.
Having run holiday accommodation that is dog friendly. We also asked that dogs didn’t go upstairs or in the ‘formal lounge’. We did have a snug with sofas that dogs could go on.
Virtually every comment is people saying that they just ignore house rules and let dogs go where they want and it makes my blood boil.
Hosts do know that people break rules. There isn’t a fat lot we can do about it unless real damage is caused and even then it’s a pita to sort.
The main reason I didn’t allow dogs to run riot is trying to keep things clean. Dogs and kids inadvertently are dirty and it costs a small fortune to keep everything spotless because it’s Sod’s Law that the booking you get after people with a million children and 3 dogs is a family who expect the house to have been forensically cleaned in the 4 hour turn around we had.

Staggered by this as though I have never been on holiday in a holiday cottage i always assumed that if they accepted dogs then they would have to remain crated indoors! It would never have occurred to me that they would be allowed to race around the entire house leaping on furniture!!

Ah I’m the opposite. If they say they accept dogs I feel the dogs should be able to go to all the same places as the humans. If they’re limited (no upstairs, not on furniture, crated) it’s like, they’re not really allowed. Just say you don’t allow dogs. But also, I wouldn’t let my dog drag mud onto carpets/furnishing, so maybe not everybody is like this.
