"cheeky" - sorry another advert term query

Seen an advert for a possible horse, which describes the gelding as "cheeky and loveable".

Does this mean it politely takes the p*** or its a total oaf.

Definitions please!

I'd take it that they meant he had a bit of personality, that's all!

I must admit that after spending ages hunting for my mare I take rather a pesimistic opinion on terms like this! For cheeky I'm afraid I would be inclined to think 'right little bar-steward'! Certainly not nicely mannered I would imagine. Depends what is tolerable to you I guess.
