Cheeky Treats- What do u let your horses snack on?

ours love wild blackberries and raspberries right off the bushes out on hacks (you lean down and grab the stalk and they turn to get the fruit, dead cute! :)

Ron is prone to stealing the odd sausage roll or fruitcake at hunt meets.... but he's not really convinced about the sausage rolls....

My TB mare is the first horse I have come across that doesnt like lickets! I was amazed!
Loves carrots and apples, when eating an apple she takes the little cutest bites ever no matter the size of the apple :)

I have literally never seen deano turn down food. He likes: carrots, apples, turnip, parsnip, peaches, pears, strawberries, chocolate biscuits, tea, irn bru, lucozade, cider, crisps, chips, toast, ginger cake... and probably everything else in the world but that's all I've offered him so far!

My OH loves marshmallows and my welshie learned he often had them in the car.... Now when ever we go past him hacking she sticks her head in the window to ask for one!
Doesn't happen often... Don't think marshmallows are right for ponies but she does love them!!!

All horses I've ever owned have loved ginger biscuits

Just forgot my most obvious one (although run of the mill for me so maybe that's why I forgot it!!)

I buy Kendal mint cake for the horses. They get a small cube before I get on for schooling... Makes them lovely in the mouth :)

how could i forget Ollie has his christmas Guiness! started off when he was on box rest with a huge cut and was taking ages to heal and he had a lack of iron- vet recommended a few cans- fair to say i now have an alcoholic horse. he drinks sraight from the can and can open it himself xx

mine have all stolen a lot from us over the years! most memorably we went and bought some sandwiches for lunch then at them at the yard by the gate chatting to the ponies - rufus stole mums prawn sandwich- then looked for more! he also likes watermelon, kendal mint cake, apples, carrots, bananas, pears, coke, milkshake, lucozade, beer and most of all, crisps- any flavour (but especially salt and vinegar!) oh and he does the blackberry picking thing too!
lola loves milkshake, all of the fruit above, beer, lucozade, she always tries to steal mums coffee and tea. bless
tiger doesnt eat much really, he insists on trying whatever you have, but usually spits it out! wont eat likits, but will eat apple and carrots, and absolutely adores blue raspberry bon-bons! he went mad for them and ended up with a blue tongue!

Apart from the usual carrots and polos, my boy would devour (if i let him) packets of Cheddars.

Years ago my vet turned up with a box of doughnuts, one of which he gave to my previous horse.......

My mare had apples carrots pears and bananas in every meal (so three times a day at the mo! )
She gets a swede to comp on about once a week
She also loves raspberries, blueberries, grapes, strawberries, mange tout, pea shells, parsnips, Brussel sprouts (odd horse) and we'll just about any fruit and veg!
She also loves go ahead bars!

As someone above, can't really recall my boy turning any kind of food down but he is very partial to bananas and any kind of pastries, esp mince pies.... ;)

One of mine love savory food - BBQ flavored crisps, salt and vinegar crisps, meat pie, sausage roll, hot chips..... Don't even think abou goin near him with a bacon and egg burger, he will go you for it!! Loves them!! He also likes normal horse treats - apples, carrots, horse treat bars and licorice.

My other one loves sweet stuff - skittles, chocolate, coke and his favorite is Red Creaming Soda :)

My boss's horse loves bread - all styles, with anything on it...

And another one of my boss's will eat anything - rugs, halters, collars, hairs, fingers, he even tried licking a do once... Animal, vegetable or mineral, he doesn't descriminate :)
