Cheese Grater Stirrup treads?

Does anyone use them? Feedback appreciated.

I used to have Royal Rider stirrups that had these and I loved them - my only complaint was that they scratched the stirrup leathers!

I was wondering how they might affect the stirrup leathers/saddle flaps and also boot soles. Thanks!

Mine run up so that they ont shred the stirrup leathers, and Id dont wiggle my feet around as they keep them still so havent noticed any probs with my soles.. can go investigate them for you?
I have a big popping horse so when my lower leg does an "ellen" i get to keep my stirrups!!!

You have to be really careful to put them on the right way as the pointy bits overhang one stirrup edge but not the other.

They 'cheese grated' my blinking hands every time I cleaned the tack so they went in the bin !!!
