Cheltenham 2025

Yes that hunter chase fall looked dreadful, went to get up and then crashed down.

Tragic.

The rest of the hunter chase was a treat, everyone streaming round nicely and a tight finish. The standard has improved so much from some years back.

I agree, I used to dread watching it as it was more “rough and ready”. These days the riding standard is so much better, less dodgy strides etc.

Glad to see that Take All is up ok, it was a crashing fall.

Very sad about Springwell Bay and Corbetts Cross, two lovely horses.

Other than the losses, it’s been a great week. My most successful Cheltenham week ever. I don’t bet often and only small amounts but I won £170 this week.

See you in a couple of weeks for Aintree!

Good job I was skint before starting this week, I got New Lion and Lossiemouth and nobody else for the whole meeting! Luckily I’m only down my pride.

Excellent news! Guess he was winded?

I think so, although I’m wondering whether he had his leg caught in the reins which is why he was struggling.

Just seen the updated stewards report regarding one of the other jockeys -

An enquiry was held to consider whether Mr Tom Hutsby, the rider of GO ON CHEZ, unplaced, had continued in the race when the horse appeared to have no more to give. Being a 7lb claiming amateur, Mr Hutsby was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined. The rider and the Veterinary Officer were interviewed and recordings of the incident were viewed. The rider was suspended for 10 days on dates to be notified to him by the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority.
