I like Bravemansgame too. That was a horrid thing to say Elf.
Have to admit Galopin is a beautiful horse and he was cruising. Glad Hewick got up.

Why is it horrid? I'm not quite fan of the horse, I didn't want it to win. I would never wish a fall or injury on a horse but quite happy for them to be beaten.

I thought Hewick had broken his neck. He’ll be sore but I’m so glad he’s standing. Galopin is a gorgeous horse.

Why wouldn’t you like a horse ? You make it sound personal which is weird. He’s the best three mile chaser in GB and he ran a brilliant race.

We don't have to like every animal we come across in life. I'm not a fan of BMG don't get me wrong I appreciate he is a good horse and his jumping is absolutely phenomenal but I am quite happy to see the horse beaten in a race.

Maybe I have spent too long in Scotland where the mentality up here in football/rugby is the Scots support anyone who is playing England.

I don't think Elf's comment was horrible, if she'd said "I hope BMG gets hurt" that would be horrible but not wanting him to win isn't. Im not keen on his jockey and trainer so was hoping he wouldn't win, but admire his jumping and PN skill as a trainer. It's like I don't want GE to do well as I'm not keen on the guy after the "incident". I'm more a neutral and not wanting Britain to win at all costs, I'm more drawn to connections I like. Guess it's being a football fan, I only like my team, and if Liverpool are playing in Europe, as a United fan, we have a bitter rivalry with them so I don't want them to win just because they're British! Kind of like Elf's Scotland Vs Britain thing - anyone but Liverpool or City!

As an aside agree WM seems a lovely man, always gives the media time

Fabulous to see Olive Nicholls getting a third! You go, girl!

I like Olive, never been a fan of her sister though.

Freddie Gordon was 6th in the County Hurdle on Highway One O Two. I lead him up for his first winner under rules at Carlisle on a different Highway horse for his dad. The young kids are coming through and they look like a good bunch.

Just been looking at the BHA Stewards reports for Cheltenham. 2.10 the report states that the favourite Pembroke was pulled up he actually finish 17th. Makes you wonder what else in those reports is wrong especially as at the start of todays ITV coverage the commentator said 2 jockeys had received suspensions for misbehaving at the start yesterday as the report said 1 had got a suspension!

Another question for those who work in NH racing. If a jockey gets a suspension from the stewards what is the lag between it being given and the jockey having to serve said suspension??
Harry Cobden has picked up 4 days suspension so I assume that will be added onto his whip suspension period. Is that how it works??

I'm sure one of those was given today as the Jockey had left the course before the stewards could speak to him yesterday. So the report for yesterday will have said 1, the report for today will include the other.

The ban starts 14 days after it is given so trainers can rejig race plans if they want a particular jockey on their horse. You can move 1 day of a ban of up to 4 days. You can move 1 day if there is a Grade 1 that day. The banned days only affect days where there is that "code" racing that day. So say you had a 4 day ban that started on Monday and there was jump racing Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat that week you would be out all week. It doesn't matter where in the country the racing is you are banned on days of your code regardless if you would have ridden at the meeting anyway or not.

Just to add - the jockey has 48 hours to lodge an appeal and if appeal lodged then can ride until appeal heard by BHA Panel. Normally heard quite swiftly.
