So thoughts on WM being narked at the going not suiting his horses? Do we complain when it’s a bog and he wins every race?
He’s not doing that badly overall. I do agree ‘good’ is not an ideal description for NH but it seems to be riding safe enough. Loads of rain forecast.

Strange days racing today, very difficult to predict apart from the mares race. Not sure we will be talking about the rest of them in years to come 😀

Venetian tends not to run hers on anything but soft. Is she complaining?

Courses can't control the weather either, or the run up to a specific week where conditions have to be 'perfect'. There was a Old Gold vid last week pre Akimos's run who's with NH, and he was honest that the ground wasn't ideal for the horse's first chase attempt, BUT he was well aware that 24hrs before they had been on the verge of watering, such was the speed that conditions were changing.

When I did the tour of Goodwood last year the clerk of the course was extremely honest about the reality of prepping for a big week and the mm of margins between being hailed a success by trainers or slagged off. He also has the added issue that on a low cloud day the course sits IN the cloud given its location.

Isn't Heart Wood pretty? I'm trying to work out if Kiss Will is greying out or just a really unusual colour, or a really unusual colour that's greying out? I've never seen bz on a racecard before. b ro, yes. But what's the 'z' for?

And you'll never keep everybody happy regardless.

I think it is because he is officially listed as bay/roan rather than grey / roan and according to the RP website, they don’t seem to recognise that as a possible colour combination? On the Irish racing site, he is a bay/roan, on the BHA site, he is a bay only. I’ve seen a few gr/ro but never a bz before.

He’s also an AQPS apparently, but I can’t seem to find the studbook search today.

Just watching on catch up theres an absolutely huge helicopter behind the start of the 1st race, wonder who that belongs to

That start was absolutely farcial, they need to send them further back if they need to get straighter, so many nearly got kicked

Gordon Elliott Racing snapped up debut winner Monster Truck (lot 29) for a record £530,000 to top the Tattersalls Cheltenham Festival Sale after racing on Thursday. The four-year-old gelding is the highest-priced horse ever sold in the Tattersalls Cheltenham sale ring.

The son of Goliath Du Berlais won his only start, a three-mile point-to-point at Lingstown on March 8. Consigned by Cormac Doyle's Monbeg Stables, he is out of the winning Carmen Lady (Authorized) and is a half-brother to the winning hurdler Le Yacht (Buck's Boum). Granddam Shining Sea (Anabaa Blue) was placed twice at listed level in France.
